The GHS Squash girls recently had the privilege of The GHS Squash girls recently had the privilege of welcoming visiting squash coach from India, Mr Deepak Moolani, a respected coach and mentor based in Pune.

Mr Moolani is associated with the UpSquash Academy and Moolani Squash Academy, and has held coaching roles including Indian Air Force Head Coach and Technical Director for Saurav Ghosal Squash.

During his visit, he shared valuable insights into both the physical and mental aspects of squash, offering guidance and encouragement to our players.

The session concluded with an exhibition match between Mr Moolani and Mr K Naidoo, Head of Squash at GHS, which the girls enjoyed watching.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mr Moolani for visiting GHS and sharing his knowledge and experience.
Recently, the KZN Youth Orchestra joined our Wind Recently, the KZN Youth Orchestra joined our Wind Band for a vibrant live performance at Liberty Midlands Mall. The collaboration produced a rich and dynamic sound, with each piece reflecting the dedication, skill and passion of the young musicians involved. It was a powerful showcase of teamwork and musical excellence, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

A special Mother’s Day celebration was enjoyed at A special Mother’s Day celebration was enjoyed at GHS as the Consumers Department welcomed learners and their mothers for a warm morning of connection and creativity. Together, they prepared delicious treats, shared meaningful conversations and spent quality time in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.

The occasion served as a meaningful reminder of the love, care and encouragement that mothers and mother figures bring into the lives of our girls each day. From laughter around the tables to the beautifully prepared quiche recipes, the morning celebrated not only food, but also the special bonds that strengthen our community.
The kitchen came alive at this year’s Great GHS Co The kitchen came alive at this year’s Great GHS Cook-Off Challenge.

Our girls showcased creativity, confidence and flavour as they prepared their own chosen dishes and shared the inspiration behind them.

The event concluded with presentations to the judges, where passion and skill shone through. Well done to all participants.

A special thank you to our judges: Jackie Cameron (Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine), Renzo Hamblin (Hamblins Catering) and Catherine Steyn (KwaZulu-Natal foodie influencer), for their valuable time, expertise, insightful feedback and encouragement, which made this experience so meaningful for our girls.

Our Grade 12 Physical Science learners engaged in Our Grade 12 Physical Science learners engaged in an interactive practical lesson investigating how temperature, surface area and concentration influence the rate of chemical reactions. Through hands-on experimentation and observation, they were able to apply theoretical knowledge in a meaningful way, deepening their understanding of how these factors affect reaction speed in real-time scientific processes.
Congratulations to our girls who took part in the Congratulations to our girls who took part in the Eddels 01 and EThekwini P3 Table Tennis National Ranking tournaments. They showed real determination and heart across both events, giving their best and showing how much their hard work is paying off. We are very proud of the way they represented GHS with confidence and pride.
