We are proud to have hosted such a successful occasion, giving learners from different schools the opportunity to share their talents and celebrate their passion for music.

A commemorative event recently held at the Pieterm A commemorative event recently held at the Pietermaritzburg Railway Station marked Mahatma Gandhi’s historic eviction from a train and was organised by the Pietermaritzburg Gandhi Foundation. The occasion was attended by dignitaries, including the Consul General of India to South Africa, Mr Niteen Yeola and represented on behalf of the school by Mr Marwick and Mr Reddy.

The event reflected on the significance of this historic moment and its enduring legacy in promoting peace, justice and non-violent change.

We extend our sincere thanks for their representation of GHS at this important occasion and were also proud to have Akshara Parbhoodeen (Grade 9) in attendance.

The festival brought together musicians from local schools for a celebration of music, talent and collaboration. From uplifting band performances to beautiful choral and string ensemble presentations, the day highlighted the exceptional musical talent within our community.

A sincere thank you to Mrs Reibeling, Mr Bentley and Mrs Bentley for their hard work and dedication in making this event possible and to all the participating schools for helping to make the day such a memorable success.

We look forward to many more Harmony Festivals in the years to come.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mr Sipho Elias Mdletshe, a beloved member of our Girls’ High family.

For 33 years, Mr Mdletshe gave his heart and soul to our school. His loyalty, quiet dignity and strong work ethic left a mark on generations of learners and staff. 

More than his dedicated service, it was his kindness, humility and genuine care for others that made him so special to all who knew him.

He took immense pride in his work and in the life of our school and his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. We are truly grateful for his years of service and the joy he brought to our community.

Rest peacefully, Mr Mdletshe. You will always be remembered with love by your Green and White family.
