DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, 26 September 2026\, Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School will host the inaugural Nashua Green Ellys Rugby Festival at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Pieter Booysen Sports Park. This landmark occasion marks the first-ever 15-a-side U18 all-girls rugby festival in South Africa\, inspired by the Lady Springboks’ trailblazing performance at the 2025 Rugby World Cup. Our aims: \n\nShowcase female rugby talent across KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.\nPosition Pietermaritzburg as a hub for resilience\, grit\, and sporting excellence.\nBreak barriers and create pathways for young women in rugby.\n\nHighlights \n\nOne-day format with each team playing two matches.\nFormation of a 15-side All Stars team selected by qualified selectors.\n10 confirmed teams\, with up to 2 additional entries possible\, bringing together over 230 players plus officials and supporters.\nNashua as Title Sponsor\, providing branded tee-shirts\, goodie bags\, and transport support to ensure inclusivity.\nCoverage amplified through SuperSport Schools livestreams and GHS’s digital platforms.\n\nVenue \n\nTwo rugby fields\, clubhouse\, changerooms\, and ample parking at UKZN Pieter Booysen Sports Park.\n\n The Nashua Green Elly Rugby Festival is more than a sporting event — it is a celebration of opportunity\, empowerment\, and the future of women’s rugby in South Africa. \n\nEvent overview\nProgramme (to come)\nFixtures\n\n
